Please note: Lake Shore Railway Historical Society/Museum does NOT have in its collections ANY Lake Shore & Michigan Southern (LS&MS) company paperwork. The LS&MS was taken over by the New York Central Railroad in 1914. Company documents (including employee records) would have been absorbed into the records of the New York Central. In the late 1960’s New York Central was merged into Penn Central, which was later taken over by Conrail in the mid-1970’s. Finally in 1999, Conrail was sold and split between Norfolk Southern and CSX. None of those current or past railroad companies have ever turned over historical documents or records to the Lake Shore Railway Historical Society.

Museum Hours

May until June 14th:
Saturday and Sunday
June 15th until Labor Day:
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Labor Day until October 26th:
Saturday and Sunday
For all days listed above: 12 Noon until 4PM
- unless otherwise posted for special events

The museum grounds are open to the public from daylight to dusk, year round.

Admission to the museum is by donations at the door which are encouraged and greatly appreciated.

Our gift shop offers railroad publications of many kinds, t-shirts, caps and railroading memorabilia. A wonderful place to find the perfect gift for the railfan in your life and for you, too!
