Lake Shore Railway Museum as Seen From the Air – Updated

Aerial drone photography is fast becoming a huge activity, drones are now very capable platforms for small and light high definition video cameras. A recent magazine article highlighted the use of drones to get those formerly impossible shots of trains moving through mountains and valleys and over bridges opening new vistas to the railroad photographer.

No longer are tall trees, fences, walls or buildings an obstruction, just fly above them and get your shot. No more scrambling to a higher vantage point to get the perfect view.

Of course, along with those hard to get shots, train spotters and enthusiasts can now see all of their favorite locations from different angles, too, like this video of the Lake Shore Railway Museum taken by Ben Nagle.

Update: Here’s another much longer video than originally posted, that contains everything in the first video plus a whole lot more, flybys, trains, lots of angles from all directions and an indication of how far these quadcopters can fly. Decent soundtrack, too!
