Nickel Plate 765 rolled through North East, PA again, this time heading west after running passenger excursions in New York. It’s hard to know when these steam engines will be going by, we usually get very short notice, but for those who were lucky enough to be in North East in the afternoon, this is what you would have seen, a gorgeous shot of the big Berkshire 2-8-4 pulling hard and bringing back memories of years gone by.
As noted earlier on this site, these Berkshires used to be regulars along these rails in the days of the Nickel Plate Railroad.
