1970 “U-Boat Locomotive” Transferred to Lake Shore

North East, PA. —CSX/MCVX #7764, a 1970 Erie-built General Electric U36B locomotive has been transferred to Lake Shore Railway Historical Society. The 3,600 horsepower, four-axle locomotive was originally built for Seaboard Coast Line Railroad as #1776. The museum grounds are open to the public from daylight to dusk, year round.

Admission to the museum is by donations at the door which are encouraged and greatly appreciated.
